Jada Lewis
CEO and Founder
Jada Lewis is a results-focused and strategic executive leader with over two decades of professional experience centered around education policy, diversity initiatives, people development and coaching, training and facilitation, multi-media environmental engineering and compliance, as well as STEM talent and workforce development.
A common thread throughout her professional career has been a strong commitment to ensure that all children and adults have access to a high quality education. As the former Senior Vice-President and Executive Director of City Year Baton Rouge, she led the site through an unprecedented disruption of the education ecosystem due to COVID-19 and understands the challenges ahead as recovery continues.
As a former chemical engineer, Jada understands the importance of students and adults having exposure and preparation for careers and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) so they can develop valuable analytical and critical thinking skills they will need to thrive in an economy with jobs that are yet to be created. Jada is known throughout Louisiana and the nation for her work at LSU in the College of Engineering, where she led the diversity office and increased the recruitment and retention of historically underrepresented groups in engineering, females and minorities, to unprecedented levels during her tenure.
Jada’s work in STEM talent pipeline development and PreK-12 education policy around the state of Louisiana opened the door for her to successfully campaign and win a seat on the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) in 2015, where she went on to serve a four year term and helped shape important education reform policies for Louisiana. During Jada’s time on BESE, she championed and advocated for a number of issues including more high quality school choice options, increased access to career and technical opportunities, increased early childhood funding, as well as other workforce development initiatives.
Jada Lewis received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from LSU. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Government with dual concentrations in Law and Public Policy and Public Administration from Regent University. She is a graduate of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Leadership Program (2014), Council for a Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana (2018), and was selected as one Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Forty Under 40” (2013).
